HEATING UP: LSA gaining momentum amid district play
It would appear that LSA Baseball is delivering on its promise to โget back on topโ in the race for TAPPS supremacy on the diamond. The Pioneers have started off the Spring season like they were shot out of a cannon, winning nine out of their first ten games, which included an especially sweet series sweep over heated rival, Second Baptist, to begin district play.
THE WRAP: Concordia Lutheranโs best of the Winter
Concordia Lutheran was a determined group, this Winter, on both the pitch and the hardwood. With the season finally wrapped up, it was time for TAPPS to dole out the private school props throughout the state of Texas, and as expected, several key figures of โSader Nation Winter Athletics were credited with the season recognition they deserve.
UNDER THE LIGHTS: LSAโs Klein a State pole vault favorite
The most notable cause for celebration for the Pioneers during the annual LSA Night Under the Lights meet at Glassel Stadium was when junior Wilson Klein burst onto the scene in the Pole Vault event, earning gold (15โ 1โโ) while setting a new school record in the process.

HIGHLIGHTS: Second Baptist School wins 2022 TAPPS Division II State Baseball Championship
Second Baptist School defeated The Brook Hill School 11-5 on Thursday, May 19, 2022, to win the 2022 TAPPS Division II State Championship. It is the 6th State Championship in program history. It is the first since 2016.
THROUGH THE LENS: St. Pius X Takes Down Antonian in Area Round
St. Pius X Baseball faced familiar foe Antonion Prep in the first round of the TAPPS Division I area round playoffs. The Panthers won on a walk off in the bottom on the 7th with a final score of 2-1. Junior Jackson Mobley knocked in winning RBI with a double to left field scoring Miles Daughtry.

THE WOODLANDS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY LOST A HEART-BREAKER IN THE TAPPS DIVISION II STATE SEMIFINALS 1-0 TO EVENTUAL CHAMPION LUTHERAN SOUTH. IT WAS A TOUGH WAY TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE LIKES OF CAEDMON PARKER (TCU), PAYTON MOSER, CHRISTIAN BERGER, AUSTIN BOYD AND BRYCE BURTON AMONG OTHERS.
BLOCK PARTY: No. 5 Rosehill Christian returns five from TAPPS Elite 8
The Eagles pieced together a solid 2020 season, going 19-1 overall and being one of the final eight teams standing in the TAPPS 3A playoffs. As Jessica Gehrke enters year four (46-8) leading the program, she returns five starters for 2021.
FBCA Softball Claims District Crown
Fort Bend Christian Academy softball has claimed another district crown, going undefeated in district play. FBCA softball is a perennial power in TAPPS Division II and they have their eyes on another state crown. The Lady Eagles won the State Championship in 2018, and you can expect this squad to compete for a State Championship again.
Antonian wins TAPPS 6A Championship to Cap Off Dominating Season
For Antonian, it also meant overcoming their loss in last year's Championship game to John Paul II. A loss that came as the sports world shut down in response to COVID-19. With an impressive 31-1 record, their lone loss to 6A State Runner-up Westlake, it is easy to see why. Hopefully, we can pull off an amazing season and another State Championship!" 5 Way-Too-Early 2021-22 Basketball Predictions
The UIL and TAPPS basketball seasons wrapped up its respective seasons last week through the weekend. Duncanville (boys), Argyle (boys), DeSoto (girls), Dallas Bishop Lynch (girls) and Fort Worth Southwest Christian (girls) all were crowned state champions over the last week. Like I did for the football season, I'm going to offer up some top-of-mind, knee-jerk predictions for the 2021-22 season - so here we go. With her continued growth and another stacked team coming back in 2021-22, Lake Dallas will be a team to be feared in 5A. The 2021-22 tournament season is going to be crazy and a welcome return to normalcy.
GALLERY: Fort Worth Christian finishes as TAPPS State Runner-Ups
The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals have a season to be proud of after finishing as the state title runner-up team in the TAPPS 5A Championship game last Friday. Nathan Bledsoe posted an excellent 18 points for the Cardinals with three three-pointers that went through the hoop. Despite their efforts, the Cardinals were unable to make a fourth-quarter comeback and lost to The Woodlands Christian 60-47. The Cardinals finished the 2021 season with a 24-10 overall record and a 9-1 district record.

Campus Game Review: Lions Come From Behind to earn a Huge Win
The tough team from Central Catholic came out of the box hot Monday night, not missing many shots, and playing stellar defense. Freshman Isaac McCrea was a huge addition for the Lions in this quarter, earning them many steals and some huge rebounds. Coach Val knew he had his chance, and told the boys the game plan- to win by 8. The Lions walked away on Senior Night with a Win and by 9 points, earning them that second place spot. Central Catholic outstanding players of the game goes to Julian Sanchez with 18 points and Joshua Devora who had 29 points on the night!
Fort Bend Christian blanks Brentwood Christian 4-0 to advance in playoffs
For the Fort Bend Christian Academy Warriors, playing a home playoff game is something they haven't done in over a decade. On Monday, the Eagles not only hosted a playoff game but also won one, defeating Brentwood Christian 4-0 to advance in the TAPPS Division II Soccer Playoffs. Senior Ian Aviles scored three of the Eagles' four goals on the afternoon and was named the VYPE Player of the Match. VYPE also was able to catch up with FBCA men's soccer coach Jason Westfahl after the match.
Drive for Five- Central Catholic Shoots for its 5th Straight State Title
Four years in a row, and looking to clinch the 5th TAPPS Division I State Championship title in 2021, the Central Catholic Buttons have already come out the gate with a bang. It was a foggy night, but sight wasn't going to be the biggest factor on the field. With the drum being the cadence for the team and the snap count- the team found a way. And again, to open the fourth quarter, the Rangers score again. The Rangers, a team and coaching staff full of opportunities to make excuses, instead go find a way to make it happen. What an exciting way to make history as this is the first ever State Championship for TSD and we look forward to many more!

DFW sends 4 to TAPPS Volleyball state tournament; Who has the best chance to win?
6A Argyle Liberty Christian (30-1, 5-0, 96.8% win percentage)Argyle Liberty Christian is a great contender for the 6A TAPPS volleyball state title. Argyle is set to face the defending TAPPS 6A volleyball state champions Houston St. Agnes. 2A Red Oak Ovilla Christian (20-5-2, 6-0, 77.8% win percentage)The current 2A TAPPS volleyball state champions have done it again! 21 overall in TAPPS volleyball (according to MaxPreps), the Eagles should come into the title match strong. In the 2019-2020 season, Ovilla Christian defeated Austin Waldorf (3-0) to take home the state title for the second year in a row.

The Southwest Preparatory Conference will not have a state-wide title as the North Division decided against playing. TAPPS Final Four Teams Return In One Gym To Start The Season
Despite no spectators being allowed, a four-team round-robin classic was anything but boring this past Saturday at San Antonio Christian School. All four teams were represented at the TAPPS final four in 2019. Gerlich is starting her fourth season at SACS and each year has earned a berth to the TAPPS final four. The Holy Cross of San Antonio Knights have been to the TAPPS final four in four out of the last five years. The Second Baptist School dance team took second overall at the TAPPS Division I 5A Varsity Small Squad State Championships this year. The Golden Girls officers scored Superior in their Small Ensemble performance as well. Director of Athletics Mike Walker says this of Coach Whitehead, "She does a fabulous job as coach of the Golden Girls. After every single football game, the Golden Girls can be seen walking the bleachers picking up trash and throwing it away.
Given An Opportunity: Hollas, Parker excited about TAPPS laying out plan for the Fall
With the TAPPS announcement of new start dates for its fall and winter sports on Friday, The Woodlands Christian Academy athletic director and his coaching staff's have a plan in place. "I think first and foremost it's good because it means we're having [a season]," Hollas said about the announcement. Hollas penned a letter to TAPPS officials recommending they start the season October 2, which is pretty much what TAPPS is going to do. Despite not getting a full 10-game regular season, Hollas said at least they are getting "an opportunity to play football". "They are still going to get an opportunity to be all-state and all-district and compete for a championship," Hollas said.
VYPE Awards: The Warriors of TWCA sweep Private School Boys Hoops Category
