“It’s a lot of weight with (Ryan) Niblett gone,” he said. “I just have to play up to my expectations and do what I know I’m capable of. I’ve been playing on varsity since my sophomore year, so I’ve had plenty of time to prepare for this.”

Weighing in at just over 300 pounds and towering over his teammates with a 6-foot-5 frame, Malachi Godfrey is truly a force to be reckoned with in the trenches. Physicality aside, Godfrey brings much more to the table.

North Shore and Atascocita are looking like serious State contenders but will pick each other off in district play and the playoffs.

Sophomore Albert Brown will be taking over the reins at the quarterback spot, which was previously held by the now-graduated Brayden Whitehead.
