Forecast Update: Outer bands from Beta expected to move ashore Sunday afternoon.
Sunday is starting spectacularly in the Houston area. Don't expect it to last all day, though. The outer bands of Tropical Storm Beta are moving in from the east.
Dry air in place over Houston will hamper the progress of these rain bands, but eventually the rain will win out.
A Flash Flood Watch is in place from Greater Houston to the coast. Flooding is not anticipated today. The flood threat will begin to increase as we head into Monday.
Skies will go from sunny to mainly cloudy and the on-and-off rain will take over during the afternoon. Temperatures will be held to near 80 degrees.
