7 people indicted for selling drugs in Galveston County crack ring
HOUSTON – Seven Houston-area residents have been indicted for selling drugs in Galveston County crack ting, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery. Smith Henry Jones, 40, and wife Lekisha Marie Jones, 42, both of Houston; and Harold Damon Brown, 43, and Dejon Nicole Thomas, 38; both of La Marque were all arrested Thursday. They will now face federal charges for their involvement in distributing cocaine to residents of La Marque and Texas City, according to a release. Latoya Vonea Worthy, 30, La Marque, was also charged. Five of the counts allege Allen and Thomas possessed with intent to distribute either cocaine or crack, according to a release.

LA MARQUE, Texas – It’s been a month since Joshua Feast was shot and killed in La Marque, Texas. On Saturday, Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump, the NAACP, George Floyd’s brother, Pamela Turner’s sister and Danny Thomas marched with people in the La Marque community. Feast was shot and killed by La Marque police officer Jose Santos on Dec. 9. Crump said too many black men are shot while running away. People in the La Marque community say they’re making sure Joshua’s name and legacy live on.

Search continues for remaining suspect after teen killed in La Marque shooting, police say
LA MARQUE, Texas – The La Marque Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a teen last Wednesday. Officers said as they were investigating, another vehicle pulled up to the scene and with two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said one victim was conscious while another victim, who has been identified as Derion Chambers, was unresponsive. Office Jose Santos was identified as the officer who shot and killed Joshua Feast during an encounter Dec. 9. Investigators said Feast got out of a vehicle and ran across the street into a driveway when Santos opened fire. According to officials, Feast got out of a vehicle and ran across the street into a driveway when a La Marque officer opened fire. They call for the resignation of La Marque Chief of Police Kirk Jackson, the release of body cam footage, the firing of officer Jose Santos, and for the LMPD to implement 21st-century community policing.

According to officials, the man, identified as Joshua Feast, got out of a vehicle and ran across the street into a driveway when a La Marque officer opened fire. Jackson said La Marque residents have made reports of gunshots in the area. Mayor Pro Tem Keith Bell of La Marque said he knew the man because he went to one of his childcare facilities. La Marque homicide suspect shot by deputy outside Harris County Walmart, officials say
HOUSTON – A man wanted in connection with a homicide in La Marque was shot by a deputy Wednesday outside a Walmart in north Harris County, officials said. The shooting was reported just before 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart at the intersection of North Freeway and West Road. According to Harris County Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland, deputies were monitoring the store after receiving information from La Marque police about the location of a man wanted in connection with a homicide that happened there earlier in the day. Gilliland said that when deputies stopped the vehicle in the parking lot, the man exited the passenger’s side and pulled out a gun. Gilliland said the suspect was ordered to drop the gun but refused and a Harris County Sheriff’s Office sergeant at the scene shot the man several times.

Suspect in custody after leading police on high-speed chase in La Marque
LA MARQUE, Texas – A man was taken into custody after leading police on a high-speed chase, which ended in a crash, in La Marque. The chase began in Texas City and ended when the suspect crashed at an I-45 underpass near Alley Girl. She suffered minor injuries and was released to a family member. According to police, after Ramirez, 24, crashed, a man stopped to help, unaware that Ramirez was involved in a chase. The man suffered minor injuries.
