LA MARQUE, Texas – A woman has been arrested, accused of selling a lethal dose of fentanyl to a man who died from an overdose in La Marque last year.

The La Marque Police Department said it happened on Aug. 2, 2025, when officers responded to the Super 8 Motel located at 312 Delaney Rd in regards to an unresponsive person. They arrived and found 21-year-old Chase Boone unresponsive in his room. Life-saving attempts were made, but he was ultimately pronounced dead.
During the investigation, it was determined that Boone died from a fentanyl overdose. Brooklyn Pace was identified as a person-of-interest in the case.
Investigators found that Pace was responsible for selling the lethal dose of fentanyl that caused Boone’s death.
The case was presented before the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office who determined there was enough evidence to pursue criminal charges.
On May 21, La Marque PD with the assistance of the DEA and USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force–Galveston, Pace was located and taken into custody without incident.
She is charged with murder. Her bond has been set at $200,000.
