Search continues for remaining suspect after teen killed in La Marque shooting, police say

LA MARQUE, Texas – The La Marque Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a teen last Wednesday. Police said one of three suspects is currently on the run.

Police said the shooting happened on Dec. 30 around 11:54 p.m. when shots were fired in the area while an officer was patrolling the 2400 block of Main Street. The officer saw a black four-door passenger car and pulled the driver over, investigators said. According to police, two suspects, who have been identified as Keandre Green, 19, and Deryus Phillips, 17, were arrested. One suspect fled the scene on foot, investigators said.

Officers said as they were investigating, another vehicle pulled up to the scene and with two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said one victim was conscious while another victim, who has been identified as Derion Chambers, was unresponsive.

Investigators said they uncovered weapons in both of the vehicles. Green was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Phillips was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon. Investigators said additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
