Lindsey Gage enters year two at Ridge Point, but hopefully, this will be her first full season after last year was cut short. Shortstop Jade Uresti had a big freshman season leading the team in hits, stolen bases, doubles, and runs scored. Catcher and third baseman Alexa Semeyn (Colorado School of Mines) led the team in RBIs last year and is solid defensively, while Malyn Simmons (Mary-Hardin Baylor) brings quickness and consistency. HOUSTON - North Shore continues to check off the boxes. North Shore with the win improves to 14-0 overall and advances to its third-straight state semifinal game. Photos by Zac ByrdDematrius Davis finished 6 of 9 for 156 yards and three touchdowns against Ridge Point. North Shore leads Ridge Point 35-7 with 11:20 to go in the third quarter. Over the past three seasons, North Shore has amassed an overall record of 45-1 and has won 16-straight playoff games dating back to 2018.

VYPE Preseason Boy's Basketball: No. 19 Ridge Point
Is Ridge Point getting slept on? The Panthers finished second in district a year ago but did fall in the first round to a scrappy Tompkins squad. The backcourt will be run by Caleb Hill and Reggie Prudhomme Jr., while Matthew Lewis is a sweet shooter from the outside. VYPE Preseason Girl's Basketball: No. 3 Ridge Point
Ridge Point made a bit of history last year, reaching the Regional Semifinals for the first time in program history. Bringing back District 20-6A MVP and Texas State-signee Raven Adams and Newcomer of the Year Ashley Howard is a nice start. Adams averaged 10.6 points, 6.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. Last season, Fontenot averaged 19.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, while Allen had 10.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Ridge Point has its top three producing players back and when a coach has 39 points and 14 rebounds per game coming back, it's a nice feeling.

Memorial has rolled to an impressive 15-4 overall record and a perfect 9-0 in district play. This past weekend, Memorial defeated Ridge Point (3-1) and Pearland Dawson (3-0) in a dual-match, marking a pair of impressive wins for the Mustangs.
