A former Texas reserve peace officer, deemed the “ghost hunter,” has reached a plea deal after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women, but prosecutors said there were more victims.

Fire station being built in San Jacinto County nearly destroyed by fire
NEW WAVERLY, Texas – A fire station under construction in San Jacinto County was nearly destroyed by fire Wednesday. The fire was reported about noon at the construction site for the Punkin-Evergreen Volunteer Fire Department. The sleeping area, kitchen and meeting room were in the part of the $1.2-million building that was destroyed by the blaze. The building has been in the planning and construction stages for about two years. It was set to open on Jan. 1.

POINT BLANK, Texas Two people were killed and three others were injured Saturday night in a shooting at a childs birthday party, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriffs Office. On Saturday around 9:30 p.m., San Jacinto deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 4400 block of Counts Road in Point Blank, Texas. The other victims conditions are unknown, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriffs Office. According to the San Jacinto County Sheriffs Office, a birthday party was being held for a 4-year-old child at the residence when the suspect arrived and began shooting inside the home. During the initial investigation, deputies noted that the home was dirty but found one shelf drawer completely emptied, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriffs Office.

State troopers said Pfluger hit another patrol vehicle while responding to a burglary call. During the crash, the deputy was thrown from his vehicle, according to DPS. Pfluger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to DPS. The deputy in the other patrol car did not suffer visible injuries in the crash but was transported to an area hospital as a precaution, according to DPS.

Body found in buried barrel during search for missing man, officials say
SHEPHERD, Texas - Two men were arrested after human remains were found in a metal container in San Jacinto County. Authorities said a missing person report for 56-year-old Kirk Buik on Aug. 23 prompted the start of the investigation. According to a report, Buik has been missing since July. A search warrant was obtained and the remains were found in a barrel buried in the ground at a residence in the 700 block of Cherry Creek Road in Shepherd, according to authorities. While authorities wouldn't say that the remains were those of Buik, they did say the search warrant was obtained in connection with his disappearance.

SHEPHERD, Texas (KTRK) -- The search for a missing San Jacinto County man has ended with a body found in a barrel.New photos shared with us by Bluebonnet News shows the scene earlier Thursday, where a body was found inside a white metal container.The family of the missing man, Kirk Buik, believe the remains are his, but we're told identification will take some time.Buik's family also tells Eyewitness News they believe he was murdered with a hatchet.Two suspects have been arrested. Jack Gonzalez and Matthew Greenwood are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.More charges are expected.
