Fans mourn unexpected death of San Jacinto constable deputy known as ‘Texas Cop’ on TikTok

HOUSTON – A San Jacinto County constable deputy who gained more than 80,000 followers on TikTok was found dead in his Conroe home in late January, according to reports.

The constable was known as the “Texas Cop” on social media -- but to family and friends, it was Jared Zolman, a father of three.

Zolman, 32, was found dead on Jan. 30 by a family member after friends say he did not show up to work or respond to his texts or calls.

The cause of Zolman’s death has not been released to the public but it was reported that he had recently undergone an operation, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

San Jacinto County Pct. 3 Constable Sam Houston said the death was unexpected.

“He was a beloved Animal control officer, making sure all the animals and citizens were taken care of throughout San Jacinto county,” Houston said. “We will miss Jared everyday around the department for he loved being a servant to the citizens of San Jacinto County…. I always appreciated his respect and kindness to me and was honored to have him on our team!”

He was a graduate of the Lone Star Police Academy and was a peace officer in San Jacinto County, according to his obituary.

Zolman was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel (Bozeman) Zolman; and daughter, Josie Evangeline Zolman.

He is survived by his three children, his parents and siblings.
