According to a post on Facebook, the HHS along with Precinct 3 Constables Office said the animals were being kept outside in harsh conditions by a landlord due to their past tenants abandoning them on the property.

The dogs were said to gave all been very skinny, had lacerations on their body, and overgrown nails. Staffers say some of the animals were even missing hair, very pregnant, and scared.

“They were abandoned by people, but the days of humans failing them are behind these beautiful dogs. They will be treated for any medical issues, vetted appropriately for their age, and put up for adoption so that they can begin their second chance at a lifetime of happiness and love,” the post read.
