Adelhia Ghonda recently won the VYPE Houston Girls Soccer Player of the Year Fan Poll! <a href="http://vype.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">VYPE</a> caught up with Ghonda for the 411 on the rising star from <a href="https://www.vype.com/c/spring-branch-isd" target="_blank">Memorial High School</a>.
VYPE HYPE: The Woodlands' Tice has seen the world through soccer
<a data-linked-post="2652397521" href="https://www.vype.com/Texas/Houston/girls-soccer-memorial-the-woodlands-friendswood-advance-to-state-semis" target="_blank">The Woodlands Highlanders</a> have always been a state power in soccer. This year was no different as the Highlanders ran the table in district play en route to the postseason. One of the stand-outs inside The Woodlands' program is all-district selection Cody Tice, who will return for his senior season next year.
FEATURE: Kingwood Park Girls Soccer rolls into 2021 Playoffs
Kingwood Park is eyeing another deep run in the playoffs as they begin on Thursday. Prior to last season, which was halted due to COVID-19, Kingwood Park girls soccer had made the UIL State Tournament for two-straight seasons and was seeking a third-straight trip to Georgetown. In 2021, Kingwood Park is once again dominated District 20-5A play. The Lady Panthers went a perfect 14-0 and outscored opponents by 57 goals. VYPE traveled out to Kingwood Park a few weeks ago to talk to the Lady Panthers on preparing for another deep playoff run in 2021.

If the season would not have been stopped a year ago, Kingwood Park men's soccer would have been one of the favorites heading into the Class 5A playoffs. Kingwood Park started the season ranked No. This season, Kingwood Park has gone an impressive 18-2-2 (the two losses coming to Bridgeland and Conroe) and have gone 11-0-1 in district play, which has clinched another district crown for the program. Fort Bend Christian blanks Brentwood Christian 4-0 to advance in playoffs
For the Fort Bend Christian Academy Warriors, playing a home playoff game is something they haven't done in over a decade. On Monday, the Eagles not only hosted a playoff game but also won one, defeating Brentwood Christian 4-0 to advance in the TAPPS Division II Soccer Playoffs. Senior Ian Aviles scored three of the Eagles' four goals on the afternoon and was named the VYPE Player of the Match. VYPE also was able to catch up with FBCA men's soccer coach Jason Westfahl after the match.

VYPE Houston Corner Kicks: North Shore Men's Soccer
North Shore has been a perennial playoff team and that may even be an understatement, to be honest. The Mustangs have made the playoffs for 20 consecutive years, which is crazy. Last season, North Shore went 15-0-5 overall and returned four starters from last year's squad. Hamilton Estrada is another name to remember this year as he has interest already from the University of St. Thomas and Concordia. VYPE SPOTLIGHT: Emma Yeager of Kingwood Park Girls Soccer
Emma Yeager is a force to be reckoned with. In the soccer world she is well-known and what she brings to the pitch for Kingwood Park. If the regular season would have finished, Yeager had a legitimate chance to break the Kingwood Park regular-season mark for goals scored, which is 40 set by Vanessa Valadez in 2013. This season, Yeager, for the 10-1-3 Panthers, has already netted 14 goals giving her 50 for her career. Kicking It: Baylor Soccer-commit Stramrood having fun playing football
In the midst of what was set to be a short stint in the United States, their first daughter Lorelai arrived. Lorelai, a senior at Tomball Memorial, has always been interested in kicking. "Since freshman year, it has been a thought in my mind as I have always had long range goals in soccer," Lorelai said. Seeing Lorelai have success on the field is nothing new for Tomball Memorial girls' soccer coach Elizabeth Cavazos. After playing football on Fridays, Lorelai was then playing on a soccer field in Austin scoring a pair of goals on Sunday.

"We capitalized on chemistry, on trust, on teamwork and that played big for us in our first season," Peterson said. The first-team, all-district selection scored 20 of TWCA's eventual 43 goals scored for the year. Right behind Worthington in the goals category was Emma Shepperd, who also earned first-team honors. As TWCA shifts to a higher classification for the 2020-2021 season, Peterson said they will be young but they "have nothing to lose" against the traditional power programs they will face.
