McAllen police investigating deadly assault at downtown bar
The McAllen Police Department is investigating an early morning assault at a McAllen bar that resulted in a 24-year-old man’s death. Police responded to the 1600 block of Chicago Ave. at 12:37 a.m. for a call for service regarding an assault in-progress. The reporting person told police a man was fighting with people in the bar and that several persons were holding him down. Officers requested EMS and started chest compressions on the man, who police identified as Juan Elias III. EMS arrived and transported Elias to McAllen Medical Center, where he died at 1:26 a.m.Police say the incident remains under investigation.myrgv.com
Houston attorney Tony Buzbee says he’s handling additional cases alleging assault by Texan QB Deshaun Watson
HOUSTON – On Wednesday night, Houston attorney Tony Buzbee says a third case will be filed alleging misconduct by Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. Shortly after, the masseuse claims in the lawsuit that she became uncomfortable and stopped the massage and asked to leave. The suit also claims Watson reached out to the woman months later saying he was in Atlanta and asked if she was available. The lawsuit says she has suffered panic attacks and suffers from depression and anxiety – all of which she is seeking counseling to address, the lawsuit claims. The Watson cases remain allegations at this point in the legal process.
Do you know him? Man in karate outfit accused of assault in League City, police say
LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of assault in League City. The assault was reported on Nov. 27 in the 900 block of East Main Street. Surveillance photos were released of the man wearing a karate outfit at the time of the assault. Police said they hope the photos will help lead to the identification of the man. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 281-554-1843.
