LIVINGSTON, Texas – Three jailers who work at the Polk County Jail have been arrested, accused of assaulting a 34-year-old inmate from Kingwood inside of the jail.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said they were requested by the Polk County Sheriff to investigate a Feb. 4 incident which happened inside the Polk County Jail.
In that incident, DPS says a jailer was accused of initiating the assault of an inmate inside the jail.
The investigation led to the arrest of three jailers, 27-year-old Ty Paredes of Shepherd, 29-year-old Christopher Damian of Livingston, and 31-year-old Agapito Correa of Conroe.
All three jailers were arrested by Texas Rangers and charged with aggravated assault by a public servant, which is a felony.
