3-year-old drowns in pool during house party in northeast Houston, police say
HOUSTON – Police said a 3-year-old boy is dead after drowning at a home in northeast Houston Sunday. Police said it happened on Longview Street near Wayside Drive around 2:30 a.m. According to investigators, a party was going on at the home when the child was found face down in a pool. After the boy was pulled from the pool, CPR was performed on him until emergency crews arrived, officers said. Police said he was resuscitated and rushed to a nearby trauma center, where he later died.
2 people drown in Galveston in less than 24 hours during Labor Day weekend
HOUSTON Two people drowned in Galveston on Saturday, according to officials. A 57-year-old Hispanic man was pulled out of the water around 4 p.m., according to Galveston Island Beach Patrol. Officials said the lifeguard spotted two swimmers far from shore midway between the 43 and 47 street rock groins. Authorities also said a body found in Galveston is believed to be that of a 16-year-old reported missing Saturday night. The teen went missing around 9:30 p.m.A family friend said the teen had been swimming with friends near the 4400 block of Seawall Blvd.
Parents of special needs teen in Fulshear file lawsuit after son drowns at summer camp
FULSHEAR, Texas A family in Fulshear is searching for answers after their 14-year-old son, who requires special care, drowned at a camp for special needs children in Bellville in August. Parents Afsoon and David Harrison told KPRC 2 their son Lucas loved to sing and dance. He would come out of his skin and (he was) so excited and happy just full of happiness, said Lucas father, David Harrison. This past July they found a different camp for children with special needs called Camp Journey in Belleville. Worst day of our life when we got the call, Afsoon Harrison said.
Man drowns during gathering at home in N. Harris County: Deputies
HOUSTON Deputies said a man drowned during a small get together at a home. Deputies said they were called to the scene on Misty Lea Lane near Cali Drive in north Harris County. A small gathering was going on at the home when the man ended up in the pool, deputies said. When they arrived at the scene, investigators said they found the 44-year old man at the bottom of the pool. According to investigators, EMS workers performed CPR, but the man died.
Woman drowns hours before her 21st birthday at Lake Conroe: Deputies
LAKE CONROE, Texas – The family and friends of a young woman are in mourning after she drowned just hours before her 21st birthday, deputies said. At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, deputies said the Montgomery County Dispatch received a call about a drowning that had just occurred on Lake Conroe in the Atkins Creek Cove area. Deputies said Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Lake Division, Conroe Fire Department, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Montgomery County ESD 1 responded to the call and began to search for the woman. This is the second drowning that has occurred on Lake Conroe this season. Constable Cash encourages everyone who uses the lake to “Be Sensible, Be Safe” and wear a life jacket when on or in the water.
Man drowns after boat ride with friends on Lake Conroe during Memorial Day weekend
HOUSTON – The body of a man was found in Lake Conroe Saturday afternoon, according to Montgomery County Precinct 1. Investigators said around 4 p.m., a group of friends was on a boat just off East Beach on Lake Conroe. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Lake Patrol unit responded along with the Game Wardens, Conroe Fire, and NMC Fire. However, the Montgomery County Commissioners Court approved the purchase of side-scan sonar for the boat. In about an hour, officials said they were able to find the victim’s body in shallow water.
