KATY, Texas – A search for a missing 2-year-old took a tragic turn Tuesday night after investigators in west Harris County found the toddler had drowned in a retention pond.

Deputy constables with Harris Co. Precinct 5 were called to search for the 2-year-old on Balzano Court in Katy.
The child was later found in a retention pond behind the home. Emergency crews rushed the 2-year-old to a hospital, but it was too late.
