HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in the 12400 block of Crathie Drive in Atascocita around 10:45 p.m. Thursday after being flagged down about a repairman’s truck parked outside a residence, authorities said.

Investigators learned the 31-year-old man had gone to the house earlier in the day for repair work but never made it back home. Family members, worried after he was unaccounted for for several hours, contacted his employer, which helped track his location to the Crathie Drive address, according to authorities.
Deputies entered the residence and found the man dead with at least one gunshot wound. Detectives remained on scene late Thursday night and were working to obtain a search warrant to process the home, HCSO said. It was not immediately clear how many times the man was shot, though investigators reported finding shell casings.
Authorities said the homeowner’s son had been expected to meet the repairman at the house to address a leak, but investigators had not been able to reach him. Detectives were also trying to determine whether the son let the repairman inside.
A black sedan was reported leaving the residence, and investigators said it does not match the vehicle the son was believed to be driving based on information provided by family members. Detectives are working to identify the car and who was behind the wheel.
Officials said no one was at the home when deputies arrived. The residence is vacant and is reportedly being prepared for sale. A man and woman were seen being questioned at the scene, with a woman also seen in handcuffs; their connection to the home was not immediately confirmed.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
