KLEIN, Texas โ Several people were injured Friday in a large natural gas explosion and fire near Klein that prompted an evacuation of some residents in the area. Officials from the Harris County Fire Marshalโs Office said that a crew from Comcast was working in the area and nicked a natural gas line. The crew called in a CenterPoint crew to inspect the line which is when two lines exploded, officials said. Thieves target high school parking lot to steal catalytic converters
KLEIN โ Bobbi Pflegerโs daughter knew something was wrong when she tried to start her motherโs SUV Tuesday in the parking lot at Klein Collins High School. โIt sounded really really bad,โ Pfleger recalled. โShe was afraid to keep it running.โOnce Pflegerโs husband arrived at the campus they discovered the vehicleโs two catalytic converters had been stolen -- just one of three converter thefts in the high school parking lot that very same day. Katy Seven Lakes defeated the Klein Bearkats 3-1 in four sets in Garland on Saturday to become the UIL Conference 6A Volleyball State Champions. Klein was able to win set one by a score of 26-24 over Seven Lakes. Seven Lakes was able to turn it around and rallied from behind with a score of 18-12. Seven Lakes got out to an early lead and came out with a win over Klein by a score of 25-20. Seven Lakes was able to pull off a 25-22 win to win the championship match.

KLEIN, Texas โ Students in the Klein Independent School District who are failing their online classes will be required to transition to in-person instruction unless they have a medical exemption. The only exception will be for students who have a medical exemption form that is signed by a doctor. Officials said dates for this transition will be provided to parents by their childโs school. This plan differs from a plan announced by officials at the Deer Park Independent School District on Thursday. The so-called Reboot 2021 plan aims to bring all students back to the classroom after the start of the new year, with medical exemptions for some students.

Adcox is an 11th grader at Klein High School and believes itโs best if she stays home for school. โI think itโll be more likely for me to catch it and spread it to someone whoโs more vulnerable, so I donโt want that to happen,โ she said.
