HOUSTON – A man was hospitalized after he was shot in the face during a road rage incident on Highway 59 near Midtown Friday, according to Houston police. The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Highway 59 exit ramp to Highway 288 South, police said. Officers said the road rage incident lasted about 10 minutes with both drivers using their vehicles as weapons to hit each other. Police said the suspected shooter and one other person were taken into custody. The truck the suspected shooter was in had a tailgate branded with the company name JJ AC and Heating.

HOUSTON – A flaming 18-wheeler spilled oil and closed all lanes of I-69 northbound just north of Highway 36 for hours Monday. As of 6:20 p.m., the wreck and oil have been cleared. KINGWOOD, Texas – From the beginning it was a fast-moving fire and a longtime hair salon in Kingwood never had a chance. Just before 6 p.m. Monday evening the salon on Loop 494 near Highway 59 and Sorters McClellan Road -- called A Hair Place burned quickly. "Like a big old balloon popping," said Raul Pena, who was working next door at a mobile Goodwill Center. "I turned around and walked around the fence, saw smoke, flames, and the alarm goes off." She was working two businesses away at Nico's Place restaurant when someone came in and told her they saw the fire.

WHARTON COUNTY, Texas – Tropical Depression Bill is causing problems for Wharton County, according to the Precinct 2 Wharton County Constable's Office. All lanes of Highway 59 at the Wharton County/Jackson County line are closed in both directions due to high water. The flooding that shut down Highway 59 also caused concerns in the city of Wharton Wednesday. The University Place Apartments in the 300 block of University lost power before midnight and a resident smelled electric lines smoldering. "Even though the water wasn't that high when they would drive thru the high water it would push it into peoples homes and businesses causing serious problems," Stanphill said.
