Man arrested for human smuggling in Splendora

A man who was pulled over on the highway has been arrested and charged with human smuggling in Splendora.
An officer with Splendora Police Department pulled a vehicle over for speeding on Highway 59 and FM-2090. When the vehicle was stopped, the officer noticed multiple people who were not properly restrained in the vehicle, which promoted further investigation.
After further inspection, the driver was arrested and charged with human smuggling.
Arrest records confirmed that the driver was 26-year-old Isaac Mario Lacayo Bermudez.
Officers on scene contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to provide further action on the situation.
