Actor John Clarence Stewart tackling tough conversations in new ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’
HOUSTON – The musical numbers on ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ are usually fun and light hearted, but the show also doesn’t shy away from the more serious stuff. It’s also taken on things like relationship issues, grief, and in the latest episode – racial bias in the workplace. According the show’s website, “When a new piece of SPRQPoint’s facial recognition tech is discovered to have a disproportionally high error rate recognizing people of color, Simon (John Clarence Stewart), the company’s spokesperson, is asked to defend the company publicly. As he makes a decision and contends with the repercussions, the lack of people of color holding leadership positions at the company is magnified and causes many of the central characters to have difficult conversations about race and identity.”AdWatch as actor John Clarence Stewart, who plays ‘Simon,’ chatted with Lauren Kelly about how the show is singing a bit of a different tune in tomorrow night’s new episode.

Yes, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ deserved all of those Emmys, and you can finally watch the final season on Netflix Oct. 7
On Sunday evening’s socially distanced Emmy Awards, the Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek” made TV history by sweeping all of the major comedy awards it was nominated for, including all of the acting categories. “Schitt’s Creek” follows the rich Rose family, which is forced to move into a motel in the small town of Schitt’s Creek after they lose all of their money. It’s a fish out of water-type scenario, but as the Rose family begins to assimilate to the quirky town, viewers begin to fall in love with the quirky Roses. In reality, the cast of “Schitt’s Creek” should have been getting recognized by the Emmys for years now, but it was only until 2019 that the show and actors got recognized for their work. But there is no better way to go out on your last season of TV than by making history, right?
