VIDEO: Cypress man shot at after catching pair stealing neighborโs wheels, officials say
CYPRESS, Texas โ Authorities are searching for two men who they said fired shots at a Cypress man Friday when he caught them stealing wheels from his neighborโs property. The incident was reported about 5:30 a.m. at a home on Cobblestone Drive in the Cypress Mill neighborhood. โThey were just bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang and so at that time becoming concerned of my 14-year-old whoโs in the house I got up and was like whatโs going on,โ she said. According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constableโs Office, the man was investigating a motion alert from his security system when he encountered two people stealing his neighborโs wheels. AdIn a video released by investigators, the homeowner can be heard asking someone off-camera what they are doing.
Paralympic athlete asking for thief to return wheelchair stolen from driveway
HOUSTON โ A Paralympic athlete training for the 2021 summer games is asking the publicโs help after someone stole her everyday wheelchair. Jazmin Almlie-Ryan has a sports chair she uses to train within her Cypress neighborhood. While she trains she leaves her everyday chair in her driveway so itโs easy to switch into. Almlie-Ryan is paralyzed from the waist down but despite that became a Paralympic athlete and part of team USAโS shooting team. Iโm a huge disability advocate and so I think about if this could happen to me it could happen to somebody else,โ Almlie-Ryan said.
KPRC 2 photographer captures video of apparent meteor streaking through Texas sky
HOUSTON โ A KPRC 2 photographer captured video of a sight that is out of this world. Cesar Martinez said he was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 59 early Monday morning near Beasley, Texas, when his vehicleโs dashcam caught video of a bright green flash in the western sky. The activity seen on camera appears consistent with video of confirmed meteor sightings. While itโs not clear if Mondayโs sighting is related, the Lyrid meteor shower reaches itโs peak this week. According to NASA, this is one of Earthโs oldest known meteor showers.
