Woman shot with AR-15 at stoplight in Meyerland, police say
MEYERLAND, Texas A woman was shot with an AR-15 in a possible road rage incident Thursday, police said. Police said it happened on South Braeswood near the South Loop in Meyerland. According to investigators, a vehicle with a man and woman inside pulled up next to the victim and police said things turned violent quickly. Police are still searching for the suspected shooter and the other woman who was in the vehicle. Investigators say they were driving a white car.
New COVID-19 testing site offers easier test, but comfort comes at a cost
HOUSTON โ A new COVID-19 testing site offering locals a more comfortable test has opened near NRG Stadium. The site located at the old Sams Club on Fannin and the South Loop is giving people the chance to skip the nasal test and go for an easier, saliva-only test. โWe recognize that Houston is meeting testing capacity,โ said the founder of Bloom Labs, Abbas Khan. Itโll take two to three days to receive the results, but Khan believes they could be more accurate than other tests. COVID-19 doesnโt discriminate, everybody needs to be tested, and weโre offering a solution here.โHowever, while it may be easier on the person, the pocket still takes a hit.
610 South Loop reopens after cement truck overturns
HOUSTON โ An overturned cement truck Wednesday morning closed part of Interstate 610 South Loop at Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway. The crash was reported about 10:40 a.m. on the westbound side of the South Loop just before I-45. Video from a Houston Transtar camera showed traffic was being forced off I-610 in the area. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the crash. The road reopened about 1 p.m.Click here to check real-time traffic conditions.
