Search underway for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run in northwest Houston, police say
HOUSTON – A pedestrian is dead and the driver accused of hitting him is on the run, police said. Officers said the man was struck in northwest Houston Sunday while crossing the street near North Shepherd and Thornton around 10:40 p.m. The man died at the scene and the driver kept going, police said. Investigators said if the driver stayed at the scene, they would not have been charged because the man was crossing out of a crosswalk. The driver could now face charges for failure to stop and render aid, investigators said.
Family looking for answers after 27-year-old woman killed in hit-and-run crash in NE Houston
HOUSTON – The Chapa family is asking for the public’s help in locating the person involved in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 27-year-old Jessica Chapa. “Right here, this face every day when I came home is not going to be there no more that’s what I’m going to miss,” said Jessica’s father Juvenal Chapa. Family, friends seeking justice for woman killed in hit-and-run near the Galleria
HOUSTON – Family and friends of Kathy Lynn, 63, are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for her death. Lynn was hit and killed Thursday while crossing the street near the intersection of Westheimer Road and Interstate 610 in the Galleria area. The driver responsible never stopped to help and render aid and remains on the run. “Anytime you get involved in anything on the street of Westheimer in Houston you got to know there’s going to be surveillance footage,” Teare said. Teare had a message for the drivers responsible in both cases: “There’s no statute of limitations on this.

A search is underway for a suspect after police said a woman was hit as she took out the trash in southwest Houston Tuesday. According to investigators, they are now reviewing surveillance video as they search for the driver who hit the woman, who has been identified as 58-year-old Monica Katrise Roberts. She said she was devastated to learn that a woman had been hit and killed by a vehicle near the dumpsters at the apartment complex. “It is sad and senseless.”According to HPD, there are no witnesses or surveillance video from the scene.
Motorcyclist survives being dragged half a mile down East Freeway after crash: Police
HOUSTON – A motorcyclist miraculously survived a crash that ended with him being dragged a half a mile down the East Freeway Tuesday, police said. According to officers, the motorcyclist was riding with a group when he sped up and lost control. Police said he hit a vehicle and fell off the motorcycle, which caught on fire. That’s when police said a white Chevy pickup truck hit him and dragged him down the East Freeway. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run in northeast Harris County, deputies say
HOUSTON – Deputies said they are on the lookout for a dark-colored Dodge Ram pickup truck with front-end damage after a bicyclist was hit and killed Sunday night. Deputies said the incident happened at around 9 a.m. on Seven Mile Lane and William Tell Street in northeast Harris County. According to investigators, the truck went around a car that had stopped to make a turn and ended up hitting the bicyclist, then fled the scene. Deputies said the bicyclist died at the hospital. Anyone with information is urged to contact Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Police charge, arrest driver wanted in connection with fatal hit-and-run in north Houston
HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against a hit-and-run suspect who was involved in a deadly crash in north Houston Wednesday night, police said. Police, along with the Houston Fire Department, said they responded to reports of the incident at 7100 Airline Dr. at around 7:25 p.m. When officials arrived at the scene, they said they found a man’s body under a vehicle. Palacios changed lanes, accelerated through the intersection and struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene, authorities said. According to police, a witness traveling behind the suspect’s vehicle followed the truck and observed its bumper and license plate fall to the ground.
