KATY – Investigators need the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and the suspected driver in connection with an aggravated robbery of a woman in Katy. Deputies said the man raised his shirt and showed the woman a pistol. The woman then gave the suspect money from her purse, according to deputies. The man fled the scene in a white-colored, four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Avalon, with a black spare tire on the left passenger side. Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.

The San Antonio Zoo is celebrating the hard work of H-E-B employees with an opportunity to unwind after a wild year. As a part of its H-E-B Partners Appreciation Week, the zoo is offering H-E-B employees free admission from March 20-28. Additionally, each employee can receive 50% off standard admission for up to four guests on the day of their visit. HOUSTON – With the extended freeze expected next week, many are turning to grocery stores to get last-minute supplies and food to ride out the storm. Stores like the HEB in Montrose have been packed. “There’s a lot of energy in the store,” said HEB store leader Jeff Ditges. “Tons of people coming in and out.”“Yesterday we shipped more cases out of our warehouses than any other day in HEB history bigger than Thanksgiving, bigger than Christmas,” McClelland said. There’s a relationship between bad weather and people wanting us to deliver to them not wanting to get out of the car.

HOUSTON – Some of the major pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens and HEB in Houston plan to have vaccines available to the general public by springtime. Families could be making their way to their local pharmacy for a COVID-19 vaccine by March or early April. HEB has been working on plans for COVID-19 vaccine distributions for months. CVS stated that they plan to have COVID-19 vaccines available to the public by March, as well, at every one of their locations. Once it’s available to the public at CVS, Walgreens or HEB, it will be at no cost to customers.

H-E-B has been named “Grocer of the Year” by Grocery Dive, an industry publication, KPRC 2′s sister-station KSAT reports. HOUSTON – Local pharmacies were getting prepared to start COVID-19 immunizations. The CDC has partnered with Walgreens and CVS to vaccinate residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. When vaccines are available for wider distribution, all CVS pharmacies will have them. “We have 285 pharmacies, we have over 800 people who can give shots and we can give our a flu shot today,” said McClelland. Pharmacies said they have qualified people to give vaccinations and they’ve visited nursing and long-term care facilities in the past to vaccinate patients.

HOUSTON – Have you been trying to stay stocked with household necessities in 2020? Several grocery stores are limiting the number of products customers can purchase per visit. At all HEB stores, customers can purchase a maximum of two items for brisket, disinfecting and antibacterial sprays and wipes, Hydrogen peroxide, rubbing (Isopropyl) alcohol and first aid and cleaning Gloves. While Kroger has instituted limits of two for products like bath tissue, paper towels, disinfecting wipes and hand soap, according to CNN. These product limits are to ensure all customers have access to the products they need.

HOUSTON – The coronavirus pandemic pushed many families to try grocery delivery services for the first time. For instance, we wanted 1 pound of bananas but not every service makes it easy to specify 1 banana or 1 pound of bananas. When one store delivered far more bananas and 18 eggs instead of a dozen, it messed up the sample. In these instances, we threw those items out of our test, counting only the same items from store to store. This makes it easier for you to see which store charges more for certain items as well as the varying delivery fees.

H-E-B employees are being awarded for their hard work yet again. According to KSAT, KPRC’s sister station, H-E-B is awarding all of its partners with $500 bonuses as a thank you for facing “each obstacle with grace, compassion, strength, and resilience” in 2020. The Texas-based company notified KSAT regarding the bonuses on Wednesday and said all full-time and part-time H-E-B employees will receive the bonus via direct deposit on Friday. CEDAR PARK, Texas – A Texas woman recorded herself having a “panic attack” at an H-E-B in Cedar Park, Texas near Austin after she claims employees refused to check out her groceries as she was not wearing a mask in violation of store policy. The undated video was posted on the “public freakout” subreddit after the woman went on Facebook Live about the incident. In the video, the woman said she complained to a store manager after she said she was harassed by customers about not wearing a mask. The woman also said she has anxiety and PTSD. As Texas starts to experience the second peak in COVID-19 infections, H-E-B shoppers are calling on the company to do its part in limiting the spread of the virus by mandating its mask policy again. A petition created by David Spener on Change.org explains that the Texas-based supermarket dropped the requirement for shoppers to wear a mask because Gov. Greg Abbott has not granted local governments the power to legally require people in public places to wear masks, according to H-E-B representatives. Speners argument is that H-E-B, a private company, has the right to require its customers to wear masks in their stores. The petition demanding H-E-B reinstate its mask policy for the benefit of its partners, shoppers, and the wider public in Texas, has garnered nearly 40,000 signatures as of Wednesday.

In April, H-E-B launched a new program to help Houston restaurants by selling ready-made meals in stores during dining room closures. [RELATED: H-E-B selling ready-made meals from Houston restaurants during COVID-19 crisis ]Through the program, select H-E-B stores sold chef-prepared meals on behalf of the restaurants which were closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Kiran’s is preparing five of its signature dishes — chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, palak paneer, daal makhni, and saffron rice pulao — to be sold at H-E-B. The chef-prepared meals can be found in the Meal Simple section at H-E-B stores in West University, Third Ward, Sienna Plantation, Sugar Land, Spring Branch/Memorial and Central Market.

Days after lifting restrictions on purchasing limits on grocery items like meat products, H-E-B announced a return of those restrictions for certain stores across Texas. Stores in San Antonio, Central Texas, the Gulf Coast, the border region and some West Texas and North Texas towns will be subject to the reinstated purchase limits, which restrict purchases on ground beef and chicken, beef, pork and turkey. Customers can only buy two packages of ground beef each, and a combined total of two packages of any other listed meat product. In Houston, as well as much of West and Central Texas, customers are limited to four packages of ground beef and chicken each, and two packages of brisket each. In a press release, H-E-B said supply chains are strong and the restrictions are “a proven way to ensure the best service and product availability for all customers."

SAN ANTONIO – Another H-E-B partner has tested positive for COVID-19, according to H-E-B store officials. According to KSAT, officials reported the employee worked at the location at 9255 FM 471 West, near the Grissom and Tezel intersection. This is the second employee who has tested positive for the virus in San Antonio, an H-E-B spokesperson told KSAT. Another case was announced Saturday afternoon and the company says the COVID-19 positive partner works at the H-E-B Plus store, located on Bandera Road at Loop 1604 in San Antonio. H-E-B also confirmed that an employee at the store on the Northwest Freeway and Barker Cypress in Cypress had also tested positive for COVID-19.

H-E-B wants to reassure its customers that just because they are continuing to see empty shelves at several of its stores, that doesn’t mean some of their products are gone for good. Many customers have expressed concerns to H-E-B about the possibility of them running out of supplies amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to store officials. Social distancing is one of the methods public health officials are recommending to keep coronavirus exposure at bay between citizens, especially for seniors and others with underlying health conditions. H-E-B said in a Twitter thread that in order to promote social distancing and limit exposure, the grocery chain is now implementing free, next day curbside ordering to further help its customers stay safe from the virus. Social distancing is important to help #SlowtheSpreadTexas. H-E-B is working with local non-profits and Texas food banks to “get products to those who need it the most," the company said in a Tweet.

Walmart has made more changes to the operating hours of its stores in an effort to keep shelves stocked. Starting Thursday, stores will operate from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Stores that open later than 7 will open at their regular time, Smith said. The hour will be on Tuesdays and will start one hour before stores open. Earlier this week, H-E-B and Kroger both announced they were adjusting their in-store hours because of the coronavirus. • Clean commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations, self-checkouts, credit card terminals, conveyor belts and food service counters, and cleaning shelves when restocking products.

H-E-B says the store has been in the works for the neighborhood since 2014, and has been under construction since February. “This H-E-B store has been in the making for some time now, and we are thrilled to put our roots down on this historic corner of Houston,” said Winell Herron, H-E-B’s Group VP for Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs. “Thanks to the diligent work of the City of Houston, the Houston Housing Finance Corporation, community supporters and our H-E-B team, we are honored to be an even bigger and better part of this neighborhood.”H-E-B, which is based in San Antonio, says it operates more than 400 stores in Texas and Mexico.

HOUSTON – Jeans sold at HEB and Meijer stores across the country have been recalled because of a choking hazard. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Falls Creek Kids infant and toddler denim jeans for boys and girls have been voluntarily recalled because the snap on the front of the jeans may come loose and separate from the fabric. The recalled jeans with or without a pink star or heart graphic design stitched on the outside front and back of the jeans. The recalled jeans were sold from June through November at a price of about $12. Anyone who has the recalled jeans should return them to the store of purchase to receive a full refund.
