Over the past week, not much has changed in terms of who the top teams are. Grand Oaks and Cinco Ranch are still battling for the top spot in Class 6A, while Fulshear and Barbers Hill maintain their exemplary standing in Class 5A.

The TAPPS Track & Field season is finally reaching its thrilling finale with the State Meet taking place next week. As the highest ranking private school teams in the state converge, Lutheran South Academy will be represented on the grand stage with a plethora of their top performers seeking to make their claim as the best of the best.

The Class of 2021 leaves LSA soccer with three district championships, three trips to the TAPPS Final Four and the 2018 TAPPS Division II State Championship. "They set the example year-in and year-out," LSA soccer coach Nate Hagge said. "Their success says a lot about who they are and helping set our program as a good program that can compete with anybody. Lutheran South Academy has confidence and why shouldn't they? The Pioneers haven't soon forgotten about the magical 2019 season, which gave them their second title in five years. As Nicole Andrade eyes her fourth year as head coach at LSA with seven starters back, the confidence is there. Coach Andrade believes the lessons they learned from the 2020 season being taken away have made them stronger together as a unit heading into 2021. Earlier this week was the first of four National Signing Days. At Lutheran South Academy on Wednesday there were four athletes that put pen to paper, all from the Pioneers' baseball team. Also signing on the day was Easton Brenner to Lafayette College, Nelson Kelin to Benedictine College and Christian Melilo who signed to Southwestern University. VYPE's Susan Paling was on hand for the event. Check out some photos from the day!

LUKE HARRISON CARRIES TWO OF THE MORE IMPORTANT ROLES ON A TEAM AROUND THE LUTHERAN SOUTH ACADEMY CAMPUS. VYPE: Talk about the prestige of Texas and getting to be a part of the baseball program, which has such a great tradition. Harrison: "When talking about all-time great programs, you can't go without mentioning the Longhorns – six national championships puts them up there. When I was in middle school going into high school, I realized I may have a future in baseball. I play for Twelve Baseball and they helped me get in front of the eyes I needed to and the 'Eyes of Texas' were on me."

What's in a name? Easton Brenner is a three-sport athlete at Lutheran South Academy, who recently committed to Lafayette College to play baseball. Lafayette College is location in... Easton, PA. Coincidence? Brenner is one of the Big Men on Campus at LSA. He's a WR on the football field, a stud on the baseball diamond and also runs track for the Pioneers.
