MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A four-year-old boy died in an ATV crash Sunday, according to authorities. At approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, Montgomery County deputies were dispatched to the Creekside ATV Park on I-69 in Splendora on a report of entrapment and a request for a rescue. On arrival, units located the child and the ATV near the back of the park in an area only accessible by ATV. The four-year-old was unresponsive. According to authorities, CPR was administered immediately and medics worked to revive the child for some time.

This will allow for the work to progress on the IH 610 northbound to IH 69 southbound connector. The new I-610 southbound exit to Fournace and the new I-610 southbound entrance ramp from Hildalgo/ Westheimer opened earlier this summer. Major work for the IH 610 northbound to I-69 southbound connector ramp and the I-610 southbound to I-69 northbound connector ramp will continue.

West Loop at U.S. 59/I-69For the second weekend in a row, the West Loop will be closed at the Southwest Freeway. West Loop traffic through Uptown will be snarled, but less so. Southbound traffic will be able to access the Southwest Freeway this weekend and all exits through Uptown will remain open. Alternate routes across the Southwest Freeway in this part of town include Chimney Rock, Rice Avenue, Newcastle and Weslayan. The connector ramps from the Eastex Freeway (U.S. 59/I-69) to I-10 eastbound will also be closed.

HOUSTON – Drivers and small business owners are bracing for the impact of a major construction closure that starts Friday. All I-610 West Loop northbound and southbound lanes at I-69 will be closed. Motorists traveling northbound on I-610 West Loop northbound will detour to I-610 frontage road to re-enter the mainlanes of I-610 northbound. HOUSTON – A flaming 18-wheeler spilled oil and closed all lanes of I-69 northbound just north of Highway 36 for hours Monday. As of 6:20 p.m., the wreck and oil have been cleared. All traffic was diverted to Highway 36 as officials worked to clean up the spilled oil and clear the wreck.
