KATY, Texas – Emergency crews responded after a person was shocked by electricity in Katy on Monday afternoon.
According to Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48, responders were called to the intersection of Porter Road and Avogadro Drive around 12 p.m. on March 2.

When crews arrived, they found a person who had sustained injuries consistent with electrical exposure. First responders immediately began providing medical care at the scene.
Because of the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested. The patient was airlifted to a hospital for further treatment.
Officials have not released an update on the person’s condition.
HCESD 48 is reminding residents that electrical incidents can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable. They’re urging people to stay away from downed power lines, exposed wiring, or damaged electrical equipment and to call 9-1-1 immediately in an emergency.
