Lanes reopen after crash on Southwest Freeway HOV lane

HOUSTON – UPDATE: According to Houston Transtar, the accident has cleared and lanes have reopened.

Several southbound lanes of I-69, the Southwest Freeway, are blocked after a crash in the HOV lane Thursday afternoon.

A photo on Houston Transtar shows a vehicle with its back tires over the concrete barrier between the main lanes and the HOV lane.

Authorities say the crash is partially blocking several southbound lanes of the highway.

Emergency crews are arriving at the scene.

Authorities urge drivers to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
