Katy dominates to claim 9th high school football state championship
Once again, Katy, which has looked like vintage Katy this year, made things miserable on both sides of the ball for Cedar Hill on the way to an emphatic 51-14 win - Katy's ninth state championship and the first since 2015. But once the dam broke on Cedar Hill's defense, Katy just poured it on. No matter what Cedar Hill tried to throw at Katy in the first half, nothing worked, and nearly everything worked for Katy on the way to a 24-0 halftime lead. The Tigers lead Cedar Hill 24-0 with :36 seconds left in the second quarter. Cedar Hill scored a few plays later but it was too little, too late.

Quietly and efficiently, Cedar Hill marched through its schedule with its only blemish against Duncanville. If Cedar Hill cannot keep Katy's offense from marching up and down the field, it'll be a long day.

Katy topples Cedar Hill, 35-24
ARLINGTON, Texas โ Some might say the Katy Tigers were not truly tested this year, but were challenged in the state championship against Cedar Hill in Arlington Saturday. In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers were down 3-zip when Adam Taylor soared in from a yard out. He led Katy to win their 7th title in school history, 35-24.
