HPD: Police pursuit on East Freeway ends in crash, foot chase

Search underway for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run in northwest Houston, police say
HOUSTON – A pedestrian is dead and the driver accused of hitting him is on the run, police said. Officers said the man was struck in northwest Houston Sunday while crossing the street near North Shepherd and Thornton around 10:40 p.m. The man died at the scene and the driver kept going, police said. Investigators said if the driver stayed at the scene, they would not have been charged because the man was crossing out of a crosswalk. HOUSTON – A driver is in custody after police said he returned to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run in southeast Houston Wednesday. Police said they found the victim, who has been identified as a man in his 50′s, laying along Reed Road near Rockford Drive around 12:23 a.m. Officers said he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to investigators, the driver called a family member when he got home saying he believed he hit someone. Police said he was told to return to the scene, where he was detained. Pregnant Woman injured after high-speed chase ends in multi-vehicle crash

UPS truck driver killed in shootout identified

Friends identified the 27-year-old victim in Thursday afternoon’s shootout as Frank Ordonez. The FBI said four people, including the UPS driver, were killed after robbers stole the driver's truck and led police on a chase that ended in gunfire in Miramar. It was not immediately clear who fired the shots that killed the UPS driver or the bystander. “We are deeply saddened that UPS service provider Frank Ordonez passed away from a senseless act of violence on Dec. 5, 2019,” UPS said in a statement.
