State Championship FINAL: Stratford uses halftime to regroup for a comeback victory over Falls City
In the UIL Class 2A Division 2 State Championship game, the Stratford Elks played with a mentality that was bigger than themselves after being told by Coach Matt Lovorn โIf youโre not good enough without a title, you wonโt be good enough with a title.โ Stratford went on to defeat the Falls City Beavers by a score of 33-27 to secure a 2021 State Title! VYPEU: Stratford improves to 8-0
Saturday the 23rd, Stratford played an impressive game against the Cy-Creek Cougars. The Spartans started the game with an early touchdown and kept a constant lead. The game ended with a score of 64-0. The undefeated Spartans are now 8-0. Creek honored their class of 2022 football players, cheerleaders, and trainers. Every senior was annouced and escorted by family onto the field to be recognized.
Stratford High School holds signing day
HOUSTON โ Wednesday represented signing day for winter and spring sports, with hundreds of high school athletes signing to play sports at big-time programs. The Stratford Spartans sent eight players across various sports to signing day, including a baseball rivalry. Baseball teammates now rivalsStratford has a great baseball team, in part due to Mark Perkins and Tab Tracy. Perkins, a pitcher will play at Rice while Tracy, a versatile OF/1B, will play at the University of Houston. Perkins said he wants to keep the Rice pitching tradition alive and hopes to win a championship with the Owls.

VYPE Football 2020 Preview: District 17-6A
But VYPE has still done what we have always done when it comes to previewing Texas high school football here in Houston. The offense will also be paced by District 17-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year QB Carter Cravens (1,300 yards). Another notable returner is first-team, all-district LB Hunter Warren. Last year's District 17-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year LB Joey Verret (6-foot, 190-pounds) will be asked to step in as the defense's leader. The lone all-district player returning is FB Emilio Lujano, who earned honorable mention.
