Womanโs body found just feet from front door during house fire in north Houston, firefighters say
HOUSTON โ The Houston Fire Department officials were investigating to find out what caused a deadly fire at a north Houston home Monday. Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a home located in the 3800 block of Cochran around 1:50 a.m. According to officials, arriving crews located a single-family residence with heavy flames. Firefighters said they were told a resident that lived there had not made it out of the home. Firefighters said it took about 15-20 minutes to put the bulk of the flames out.
Man dies after being pulled from mobile home fire in Willis, firefighters say
WILLIS, Texas โ A man is dead after a fire broke out in a mobile home in Willis Tuesday, officials said. Firefighters said the deadly fire happened around midnight on South Cochran and FM 2432. When crews arrived, officials said one side of the home was engulfed in flames. Firefighters said they were able to get in through a window on the other end of the home, where they pulled the man out. Paramedics attempted CPR but could not save him, officials said.
60-year-old man killed in fire at group home for people with special needs
HOUSTON โ Firefighters are investigating a blaze that left one person dead at a group home for people with special needs in southwest Houston Tuesday morning. William Habermas lives at the group home. He tried to get all the residents to safety and grabbed a fire extinguisher to fight the flames. โI tried to push it away with a fire extinguisher, but it wouldnโt go away,โ Habermas said. Officials say the owner of the home is moving the displaced residents to another group home nearby.
