Winter storm also wreaking havoc on fuel supply
KATY, Texas โ The Buc-eeโs in Katy was a popular site Wednesday night with people from across southeast Texas looking for gas. Weโre just trying to scavenge around to see who has food.โThis weekโs storm has also created a shortage of gas. Patrick De Haan with Gas Buddy, a crowd-sharing app that helps people find the cheapest gas, said right now fuel tankers are only making 10% of their normal deliveries. Plus, the storm knocked 20% of the nationโs refineries offline, including nearly a dozen in Texas. AdโThis is an impact that is going to be the worst in the South, Texas across the region,โ said DeHaan.
Buc-eeโs is expanding to Florida with first location close to beaches
HOUSTON โ Florida is getting a taste of Texas flavor with their first-ever Buc-eeโs. In a news release Thursday, Buc-eeโs said its doors will open for the first time on Feb. 22 at the new location in St. Augustine, near Jacksonville. Stan Beard, director of real estate, said in a statement Thursday that the owners chose this particular location due to the proximity of beaches and walkable atmosphere bringing convenience to beachgoers in Florida. Construction for a second location in Daytona Beach is underway and is expected to open their doors next month, the news release said. Buc-eeโs also said it is also opening a new location in South Carolina, slated to open in 2022.
Beaver nuggets and barbecue: Buc-eeโs opens its 2nd location in Alabama
BIRMINGHAM, Ala โ Buc-eeโs is expanding in Alabama, and doors are opening Monday at their newest location. Southern favorites such as kolaches, beaver nuggets and jerky are also offered at the new Buc-ees. A Facebook post by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce said a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the new Bucees Monday morning. This is Alabamaโs second location, with the first opened in the town of Robertsdale, near Mobile in 2019, according to AL.com. New Plano business creates online marketplace for Buc-eeโs snacks
If youโve ever visited Buc-eeโs website, you may have been disappointed to discover an online marketplace for its products doesnโt exist. โAs a Texan, it would be my dream to help Buc-eeโs sell their delicious snacks online,โ Plano entrepreneur Chris Koerner said. โBut the Buc-eeโs founders will not answer my emails, so I took matters into my own hands.โThis week Koerner launched TexasSnax.com, an online third-party reseller of Buc-eeโs products. Though Pirate Joeโs shut down in 2017, after a lawsuit from Trader Joeโs, Koerner believes explicitly stating that heโs a reseller, unaffiliated with Buc-eeโs, protects him, Texas Monthly reports. โSelling a new product is protected under first-sale doctrine, but if you imitate them, you can get in trouble,โ Koerner told Texas Monthly.
Buc-eeโs opening first location in Georgia
Texas' favorite road trip destination will open its newest travel center in Warner Robins, Georgia, along the route between Atlanta and Florida. The new location marks Buc-eeโs 39th store across Texas, Alabama, and now Georgia. The Warner Robins travel center boasts 116 fueling positions, the companyโs bathrooms known for cleanliness, and everything else Texas' greatest treasure has to offer. Although out of the companyโs home state, the Georgia location will still offer Texas favorites including barbecue, homemade fudge, kolaches, beaver nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries. The Buc-eeโs travel center is set to open Wednesday, Nov. 18.

A verbal argument occurred, and the victim said the man then punched him in the face. Beaver nuggets in North Carolina? This is where iconic Texas chain Buc-eeโs says itโs hoping to go next
HOUSTON โ North Carolina may see what the hype is about when it comes to the beloved Texas chain Buc-eeโs. The company is scouting a possible location in Efland, North Carolina to build in a 500,000 square-foot mixed-use development, according to a representative for the company. The project isnโt final, but if approved, the Efland location would be the first Buc-eeโs in North Carolina, which, according to the company, would create hundreds of jobs for area residents. Jeff Nadalo, general counsel for Buc-ees, shared a statement with KPRC that read, in part, โIf built, customers can expect the same great experience provided at all Buc-eeโs locations, including great barbecue, freshly prepared pastries, breads, and cookies, clean award-winning restrooms, a wide selection of unique merchandise, and of course, more than 120 fueling positions.โ

HOUSTON โ Buc-eeโs is well known for its award-winning cleanliness, but is this model enough to stop the spread of COVID-19 at their pumps? Drivers stop at a gas station to get gas, resulting in hundreds of thousands of hands and fingers touching these gas pumps and card readers. Buc-eeโs spokesperson Jeff Nadalo said Buc-eeโs has been exercising sanitation practices for decades. โIn response to COVID-19, Buc-eeโs has enhanced its award-winning cleanliness and sanitation protocols by increasing the frequency of cleaning and adding a special sanitizing solution,โ said Nadalo. He said Buc-eeโs even makes its own sanitizing solution so the company is not having any issues or shortages.
