Staff will monitor visitor numbers as well as limit the number of visitors in non-touch galleries that will remain open. Museum staff will have daily temperature screenings and practice social distancing in all areas of the museum. Timed entry tickets for 2.5-hour visit will ensure a consistent flow of families at a 20% capacity (a little over 100 visitors max. Adults, children ages 2+, and museum staff must wear masks that cover the nose and mouth to enter the museum.

Big turn out for Houston Zoo on first day of reopening
HOUSTON – Parents have been struggling for months to keep their children entertained at home. So Wednesday’s reopening of the Houston Zoo provided a welcome distraction for many families. It was a big turnout on the zoo’s first day back open. KPRC 2 reporter Taisha Walker got an inside look at the zoo. Houston Zoo says it could have reopened weeks ago but chose to wait and make sure all the right safety precautions were in place.

YMCA of Greater Houston to reopen June 1
HOUSTON – The YMCA of Greater Houston will reopen a limited number of facilities for fitness-related services beginning June 1 as part of their phased opening approach, they said. The YMCA said they will not draft member dues for the month of June while the phased approach is being implemented. We will release details the week of May 18 regarding locations, amenities and youth programs, including summer camps, that will reopen in phase one,” YMCA Houston said.
