Surveillance video released of suspect in fatal shooting at taco stand in northeast Houston

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting at a taco stand in east Houston.

HPD patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting Tuesday in a parking lot located at 8806 Mesa Dr. at around 10:35 p.m.

Police said when they arrived, they found the 21-year-old victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

According to a witness, he and the victim were eating in the restaurant parking lot. When the victim went back to the restaurant for condiments, he was shot multiple times by an unknown male suspect. The suspect then got into a pickup truck and fled in an unknown direction, investigators said.

The suspect is described by police as a man between 18 to 21 years of age, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and 140 to 150 pounds. Officers said he was last seen fleeing the area in a possibly silver or gray early model Chevrolet pickup truck, with after-market details (lifted axles)and chrome wheels.
