Serial Child Sex Offender Sentenced To 50 Years Without Parole
Conroe, Texas – The office of Montgomery County District Attorney Brett W. Ligon announced in a September 20 press release that a serial child predator pled guilty to charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and has been sentenced to 50 years in prison with no opportunity for parole. 34-year-old Conroe resident Jody James Malone Jr. was sentenced on Friday, September 17, 2021 by Judge Lisa Michalk in the 221st District Court. His guilty plea resolved 11 child sexual abuse cases and spared numerous child victims and their families from having to testify in trial. Detective Sean Bridges of the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office received a case referral in July 2020 regarding a convicted sex offender communicating with multiple children in Montgomery County and northern Harris County. After Detective Bridges received the allegations in July 2020, the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children Team immediately began investigating and building a case.springhappenings.com
Montgomery County Precinct 3 Funds $4 Million For Gosling Road Widening Project
Montgomery County, Texas – In a meeting on September 14 the Montgomery County Commissioners Court approved a $4 million payment to Harris County for construction to widen Gosling Road in the section where it crosses Spring Creek. The project straddles the border of Harris County Precinct 4 and Montgomery County Precinct 3 and is a joint effort between the offices of Commissioner James Noack of Precinct 3 and Commissioner Jack Cagle of Precinct 4. The project will expand Gosling Road into a four-lane boulevard between Creekside Forest Drive in Harris County and Gatewood Reserve Lane in Montgomery County and includes the construction of a new bridge where the road crosses Spring Creek. “We are excited to get this very important connector between Harris County and Montgomery County built,” Commissioner Noack said in a press release from Precinct 3. South Montgomery County Sees Rise in Mosquitos Carrying West Nile Virus
Montgomery County, Texas – The Office of Commissioner James Noack of Montgomery County Precinct 3 reported on August 3, 2021 that nine mosquito samples have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in the last week. The commissioner’s office is warning residents that this development in the mosquito population increases the risk of people contracting the virus. The discovery was made through routine mosquito surveillance performed by Precinct 3’s Mosquito Abatement Team. Thus far in 2021, the team has collected and tested 400 samples with a combined 27,000 mosquitos and 47 samples in total have tested positive for the virus. In response to the recent activity, the commissioner’s office has already conducted 70 treatment missions covering over 21,000 acres and has plans to conduct 16 more before the week’s end.springhappenings.com

A 75-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man has been arrested on a murder warrant in a nearly four decade old homicide in southeast Texas. Montgomery County Judge Pleads Guilty to DWI; Sentenced to 90 Day License Suspension and $2,000 Fine
The Woodlands, Texas – Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough had pleaded guilty to Driving While Intoxicated after a September 10th, 2020 crash in The Woodlands. According to officials with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Keough pleaded guilty Wednesday. He was sentenced a 90-day suspension of his drivers license and a $2,000 fine. “Like many citizens of Montgomery County in a similar situation, Mr. Keough, through his plea of guilty, has accepted responsibility for the charge” said Mike Holley, First Assistant – Montgomery County District Attorney. 2nd Winter Storm Warning Issued; Additional Freezing Precipitation Expected Overnight
Spring, Texas – A second WINTER STORM WARNING will go into effect for Harris and Montgomery County this evening which will bring periods of freezing rain across the area. The warning goes into effect starting at 6:00 PM this evening and will remain in effect until 6:00 AM Thursday morning. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), an approaching low pressure system will bring a period of dangerous and potentially destructive freezing rain across the region with ice accumulation anticipated. Daytime highs will reach above freezing for most areas but anything that melts will freeze again overnight. Entergy Texas Suffers Major Power Generation Failure; New Plant Shut Off Due to Icing
Montgomery County, Texas – Nearly 80,000 Montgomery County residents are without power this morning after Entergy Texas suffered a major power generation failure. Keough says that Entergy’s western territory which encompasses everything west of the Trinity River has suffered a major generation failure. The new Montgomery County plant has been shut off due to icing. Additionally, two generators at the Lewis Creek facility also suffered shut downs due to instrumentation failure. Arrest Warrant Issued for Mark Keough, Montgomery County Judge
Montgomery County, Texas – A warrant was issued this afternoon for the arrest of Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough for Driving While Intoxicated after a September 10th, 2020 motor vehicle crash in The Woodlands. On the morning of September 10th, 2020, Judge Keough was traveling on Grogan’s Mill when he struck another vehicle traveling in the same direction. Keough veered back into his lane before drifting over onto the shoulder, where he rear-ended a parked Precinct 5 Constable’s Office Chevrolet Tahoe. A blood test revealed 155.5 ng/mL of Ambien, 1.5 ng/mL of fentanyl, and 65 ng/mL of amphetamine. Suspect Busted For Car Full of Drugs After Traffic Stop in South Montgomery County
Spring, Texas – Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constables Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Fox Run subdivision Thursday. During the course of the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a large amount of illegal drugs and narcotics. Methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin, liquid codeine, THC oil, cocaine, and other various prescription drugs were found in the vehicle. The Montgomery County Hospital District released a PSA Tuesday to get out a very clear message to county residents: Dont let coronavirus scare you from calling 911. This is not just a Montgomery County problem, said Dr. Robert Dickson, medical director for the MCHD EMS. Patients have a big phobia and they see lots of images that make them scared of the hospital, Dr. Dickson said. The 911 system is still intact.The hospital district is reminding people that hours and even minutes can make the difference between a healthy outcome and death. COVID has changed a lot of the way we practice, Dr. Dickson said.
