WILLIS, Texas – This week’s Rhythm Energy Athlete of the Week spotlight shines on Montgomery County and Willis High School.
The Wildkats Softball program is an annual playoff contender and this spring they are pacing once again to the postseason.
Head Coach Leechelle Lara has a squad that is deep and consistent defensively and at the plate. Sophomore pitcher Alexi Ford can literally do it all and also shines in the circle where she has dominated opponents most of this season in her outings. Alexi is off to a 10-4 as a starting pitcher sporting an ERA of 1.39 early in the season. At the plate Ford also is dangerous smacking 3 home runs and 17 runs batted in.
Ford has quickly become a leader on the Willis squad but also respects the senior leadership and all of the Wildkats that have come before her.
Congrats to Alexi Ford, this week’s Rhythm Energy Athlete of the Week.
