MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Investigators in Montgomery County are asking the public for assistance after a 81-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a home Monday.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at a home in the 19200 block of Trails End Road around 8 a.m. They responded to a report that there was someone dead at the home.
When they arrived, they found 81-year-old James Blount dead with an apparent gunshot wound.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to begin the initial investigation. The investigation remains active and is continuing with assistance from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information related to this case to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-538-5900.
