Firefighters respond to over a dozen flood-related calls after flash flooding hits The Woodlands

12 of the calls were for water rescues while three were for other flood-related calls

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Fire Department says their firefighters responded to over a dozen flood-related calls after storms dropped nearly six inches of rain in several hours Tuesday morning.

The department says the nearly six inches of rain fell between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., firefighters responded to 12 water rescue calls involving vehicles stranded in high water, several of the calls involved multiple vehicles.

They also responded to three other flood-related calls, including several homes on N. Woodstock that experienced minor flooding.

While no one was hurt in any of the incidents, the department is reminding people to “turn around, don’t drown,” and also to think of the financial implications of flooding by adding “turn around and save yourself from thousands of dollars of car repairs.”
