15-year-old found shot to death outside New Caney home may have planned to meet suspect on night of murder

Investigators asking residents in the area who may have surveillance video to contact them

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Montgomery County detectives continue to investigate after a teenager was found shot to death outside a home in New Caney Saturday night.

The teenager was found around 11:30 p.m. in the 20700 block of Stevens Road after a 911 caller reported discovering an unknown person lying in front of the home upon returning. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials identified the victim as 15-year-old Khi Broussard. They say Broussard had previously attended Aldine Middle School and Keefer Crossing Middle School and was known to frequent the Greenspoint area.

Detectives worked throughout the weekend canvassing the area to try and find more evidence and clues.

They are asking residents in the vicinity who may have surveillance footage capturing a possible suspect or suspect vehicle to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-538-5900. The relevant timeframe is between 10:30 p.m. and midnight on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Investigators believe that Broussard and the suspect may have had prior contact through social media and planned to meet on the night of the murder.
