18-wheeler fire blocks several southbound lanes of Eastex Freeway at Legion Road in New Caney
18-wheeler catches fire (KPRC 2)
NEW CANEY, Texas – Authorities in Montgomery County are responding to an 18-wheeler fire on the Eastex Freeway in New Caney.
The incident is happening at US-59 and Legion Road in New Caney, just north of SH-99.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the 18-wheeler was fully engulfed in flames.
Sky2 Chopper flew over the scene and captured images of the 18-wheeler. The cab appeared to be seriously damaged by fire.
Most southbound lanes are closed, but it appears cars were getting by through one lane.
Avoid the area or prepare for delays.
