MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Montgomery County authorities say a former middle school educator is facing an indecency with a child charge tied to an alleged incident involving a student more than five years ago.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said it obtained an arrest warrant May 7 for Garrett Cross after investigators looked into allegations from the period when Cross worked at Pine Valley Middle School in New Caney ISD.

Detectives later learned Cross is currently employed by Humble ISD. “District officials have since placed Cross on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation,” the sheriff’s office said.
Cross turned himself in to the sheriff’s office May 8 and remains in custody at the Montgomery County Jail, according to authorities.
The case is being handled by the sheriff’s office Special Victims Unit in coordination with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Division.
