HOUSTON – A healthcare aide was killed and a 90-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting at a southeast Houston home Friday afternoon, according to Houston police.
Officers were called around 1 p.m. to the 11500 block of Panay Drive. Authorities initially believed the incident was a murder-suicide.

Investigators now say four people were inside the home when the shootings happened. Police said the 90-year-old man fatally shot the healthcare aide before going to the garage, where he was shot in the head. The man is not expected to survive.
It remains unclear whether the 90-year-old man shot himself or whether he was shot by the healthcare aide’s friend, who was also inside the home. That person is being questioned at police headquarters.
Police said the man was friends with the 87-year-old woman who lives at the home.
The investigation remains ongoing.
