Flood warnings in Humble, New Caney extended into weekend; Lake Houston temporarily closed to recreational activities

With remnants of Tropical Depression Imelda apparent across the Houston region, much of the Greater Houston area is still under flash flood watch as of 6:20 a.m. Sept. 20, including some parts of the Lake Houston area. The NWS Houston also posted to its Twitter account that the flood warning for the West Fork of the San Jacinto River near Humble has been extended until Saturday night, while the flood warning for the East Fork of the San Jacinto River near New Caney has been extended until Sunday afternoon.
