The organization said in a release that Fort Bend County โsees a despair needโ of toy donations, hoping the community can rise up to help children who may be without a Christmas toy this season. Saturdayโs toy drive will run from noon to 3 p.m., with Pancho Claus making an appearance from 1 p.m. -2:30 p.m.Last month, Pancho Claus, whose real name is Richard Reyes, created a GoFundMe page to collect donations to purchase toys for children.

Baytown family donates hundreds of basketballs to Houston elementary school in honor of late son
In fact, the Crianza family of Baytown has 300 basketballs they want to give to kids who need them. โJohn,โ said Johnna Crianza. โHe was killed in an accident five years ago.โJohn is Johnna Crianzaโs son who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2015. On Wednesday, the family chose James B. Bonham Elementary School in Southwest Houston for their annual giveaway. Johnna Crianza said a few more organizations will get basketball donations too.

After their recovery, the couple said they were contacted by Houston Methodist about an opportunity to donate plasma to help future recovery. Sharlene Barris. "They've capped the number of people that can get the plasma," Sharlene Barris explained. โKeep moving forward on allowing that number [to rise].โThe Barris family said they are still working on ways to advocate for patients in need.
9-year-old boy celebrates his birthday with a canned food drive instead of a party
One child in particular really stood out: A boy who decided he wanted to give back to the community for his 9th birthday. Erica Gamboa said her son, Mason, wanted to use his birthday this year to help out locally. Thatโs when the idea of a canned food drive came in. โWe were able to collect $485, and also a lot of canned goods,โ Gamboa said. The canned goods Mason collected on his birthday.
Local high school seniors donate graduation funds to help feed 150 health care workers
HOUSTON โ The Houston Christian high school senior class is stepping up to take care of healthcare workers at Memorial Hermannโs Memorial City Hospital. The seniors donated about $3,000 of their graduation funds to help provide 150 free lunches. Allen Tseng, chief operating officer for Memorial Hermannโs Memorial City Hospital, said the gesture goes a long way. The Houston Christian high school senior class isnโt just stepping up to help healthcare workers though. They plan to donate $10,000 to the Houston Food Bank on Friday to help families in need.
