HOUSTON – Both directions of Interstate 10 are back open Thursday in Schulenburg after a chase that started in Houston resulted in a standoff and a man committing suicide, according to authorities. HOUSTON – Two women riding in the back of an Uber are dead after police said a pursuit suspect crashed into the car they were in, going over 100 mph. Police said the driver they believe is responsible is now facing felony murder charges. According to police, they were chasing a vehicle after a driver, who has been identified as 45-year-old Brian Okeith Tatum, reportedly ran a red light. Police said the pursuit came to an end when Tatum crashed into an Uber driver in a silver Honda and killed the two women sitting in the back seats. The Uber driver was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in unknown condition and the suspect was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The woman is being treated for minor injuries but the motorcyclist died at the scene, deputies said. Houston police cruiser catches fire, flips during chase
HOUSTON – A Houston police cruiser caught fire and flipped early Friday morning during a chase on the city’s east side. Bruce said the officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away and the officer gave chase. Bruce said about three minutes into the chase, the officer’s cruiser hit a pothole and caught fire. The officer lost control of the cruiser, and the vehicle flipped onto its side, Bruce said. 1 arrested after person bails out of car with baby during chase, police say
HOUSTON – A wanted man was arrested early Friday after a chase that included another person bailing out of a vehicle with a baby in their arms, according to police. The chase started about 2 a.m. near the West Sam Houston Parkway and Beechnut Street. Officers gave chase. 1 arrested after motorcycle leads authorities on high-speed chase
HOUSTON – Authorities spent Thursday night searching for a motorcyclist who led them on a chase. The chase began just before 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 59 near Will Clayton Parkway after authorities attempted a traffic stop. By 6:45 p.m., the motorcycle driver had parked the motorcycle in the parking lot of a hotel near 59 and Kingwood Drive. It appeared the motorcycle driver may have fled the scene on foot, and authorities appeared to be establishing a perimeter in the area. By 7:30 p.m., officials said the motorcyclist had been taken into custody.
