It happened a little after 9 p.m. when the Houston Police Department said officers saw several cars in the northside parking lot but described a white Suburban they tried to chase after because it almost hit two other cars.

Investigators said the Suburban driver left the parking lot and drove in the opposite lanes, running several lights while police chased them.

Investigators said the Suburban driver left the parking lot and drove in the opposite lanes, running several lights while police chased after them.

That’s when things took a turn for the worse and the police lost control of their car and hit a water main and concrete barrier before it flipped into a ditch.

We’re told two officers, identified only as men, were injured and taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK. The reckless drivers, meanwhile, are still at large.

Police are asking anyone with information on the drivers involved to call HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division at (713) 247-4074.
