Police chase leaves several officers hospitalized after multiple crashes, 3 suspects arrested

A police chase in north Houston ended Friday morning with several officers injured and hospitalized, and three suspects arrested.

It all started on Thursday afternoon when Houston police said three suspects stole a vehicle. Officers started searching for the stolen vehicle, eventually found the vehicle later that night, and attempted to stop the suspects, but were led on a chase through Houston.

Throughout the chase, three patrol units crashed. The first crash happened shortly after midnight when officers first spotted the vehicle. While in pursuit of the stolen vehicle, an officer crashed and rolled their vehicle at West Little York and the North Freeway.

After that, several other officers responded to the chase, including constable deputies with the Harris County Constable Precinct 1 Office.

When spotting the stolen vehicle on West Mount Houston and the North Freeway, an HPD officer and Precinct 1 Constable collided in the intersection.

All officers were transported to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

The chase ended when the suspects crashed the stolen vehicle in a ditch and attempted to run on foot. All three suspects were arrested. It’s not clear what charges they will face.
