According to the CPSC, the plastic playsets have multiple openings where a child’s torso can fit through, but the child’s head cannot. That creates a risk of serious injury or death from head and neck entrapment.

The CPSC said it is aware of one entrapment incident involving the playset that resulted in the death of a 17-month-old child.

What the playsets look like

The affected playsets are designed for indoor or outdoor use and include several activity components, including:

  • A tunnel
  • A slide
  • A basketball hoop

Some versions also have a vehicle-shaped component on the side.

The playsets come in several colors, including red, navy, coffee, gray, green and yellow. Consumers can identify the affected product by looking for a label that lists model WPX-4 and Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. as the manufacturer.

The products were manufactured in China.

What consumers should do

The CPSC is urging consumers to stop using the playsets immediately and dispose of them.

The agency also warns consumers not to sell or give the playsets away.

Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. has not agreed to an acceptable recall of the products, according to the CPSC.

Consumers who experienced an injury or other safety incident involving the product can report it to the CPSC through SaferProducts.gov.

The product safety warning is listed as No. 26-703.
