PEARLAND, Texas – The Pride of Pearland Band is wrapping up summer rehearsal in a big way — with a little help from the Pearland Fire Department.
On Saturday, firefighters parked firetrucks at Pearland High School’s practice lot and sprayed down student band members following their final summer rehearsal session, running from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The celebration marks the start of what promises to be a historic school year for the band. The Pride of Pearland Band has been selected to perform in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City — a milestone moment for students, parents, and the Pearland community alike.
Band members, parents, and community boosters are currently working to raise funds to ensure every student can make the trip to the Big Apple.
